With the fall months underway, the promise of winter is in the air. Winter months usually mean staying indoors near the fire reading a good book or watching a good movie. Rats
These critters can slip into tiny cracks, holes or gaps around your home and create a nest for themselves. They will also gnaw on almost anything in order to get where they want, causing damage to your home. Rats seek warm, dark places to hide in which can be in your basement, amidst clutter or in the attic. Not only are these pests damaging to your home, but they can also create health issues for you and your family as they carry harmful diseases such as jaundice and cowpox.
Stink Bugs
These pests are often found munching on fall decorations such as corn stalks, pumpkins, and flowers. Like all pests, they are looking for a warm place to hide for the winter months. While these insects are not destructive to your family or home, they do leave an offensive odor after they die, becoming more of a hassle than harmful.
Ants
Much like rats, ants can enter through any holes, cracks or gaps in the home. They are drawn to any scraps of food, sweet and sticky spills, or a warm shelter. All of these things can be found in your home. Sometimes, ants will hide in potted plants and be accidentally brought into the home. Or they will make a nest in your pantry, which offers the perfect source of food and shelter. Ants, like termites, are part of a colony. Therefore if you see one, then you will find more.
